This section is an easy-to-understand guide. Students must always verify final dates, eligibility, syllabus and counselling rules from the latest official NTA, MCC, JoSAA/CSAB and state counselling notifications.
NEET (UG) is the common national entrance test for undergraduate medical education in India. It is used for admission routes including MBBS, BDS and other notified undergraduate health science courses. NTA conducts the examination, manages application, admit card, test administration, answer key challenge and result declaration. Counselling and seat allotment are handled separately by MCC/DGHS, state authorities and relevant admission bodies.
NEET is generally conducted in pen-and-paper mode using an OMR sheet. The paper is based on Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students must follow the latest official bulletin for exact structure, marking scheme, languages and exam-day rules.
Eligibility for NEET includes academic qualification requirements, subject combinations, age/attempt-related conditions if applicable, nationality/category rules and course-specific admission rules. NRI, OCI and foreign national candidates should read the specific provisions in the official bulletin and relevant counselling authority rules.
NEET score is used by different counselling authorities. Students must understand whether they are applying through All India Quota, state quota, deemed universities, central institutions or AYUSH counselling.
After the exam, NTA generally publishes candidate responses/OMR, provisional answer key, challenge window, final answer key and result/scorecard as per official schedule.
NEET syllabus is released/updated officially. Students should prepare Physics, Chemistry and Biology according to the current syllabus and NCERT emphasis.
NEET is not only about studying Biology, Chemistry and Physics. It is about converting knowledge into correct answers under time pressure.
JEE Main is conducted for admission pathways including B.E./B.Tech and other relevant programmes. It also serves as an eligibility route for JEE Advanced, subject to the criteria defined for that year.
JEE Main is conducted in computer-based format for major papers, with paper-specific rules. Students must check official bulletin for session dates, paper choice, medium, marking and question pattern.
Eligibility includes age criteria if applicable, qualifying examination rules, year of appearance, subject combinations and state eligibility details. Students should check both exam eligibility and admission eligibility because they are not always the same.
JEE Main score is used in the NIT+ system and also determines eligibility for JEE Advanced subject to criteria. Seat allocation is generally conducted through JoSAA and CSAB where applicable.
JEE Main is conducted in multiple shifts. NTA Score is based on percentile/normalization procedure, allowing comparison across different sessions and shifts.
JEE Main syllabus covers Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Application form details, exam cities and shift allotment are handled through NTA systems.
JEE success needs concept depth, multi-step problem solving, accuracy, speed and the ability to handle mixed-topic questions.
